1967 Mk2 Ford Cortina V8

1967 Mk2 Ford Cortina V8 (32)

This car is being built primarily for the drag strip but will also be able to drive on the road. It has taken a few twist and turns during the build but we are back on track to get it compleded in 2019 (at long last). Due to the time this car is taking it has been called ETERNITY and will be sponsored by SRT Designs Limited - October 2018.

Interior

05 July 2011 Interior 1611

While this car will be used on the road, it will also be used for drag racing. Therefore, the interior needs to be practical and have all the necessary functions and safety equipment. I hope to enter into MSA/FIA events so need to take into consideration the regulations laid out in the Blue Book.

The Beginning

I will briefly give the history and development of the car and pictures throughout the build up. My objective is to have a Mk2 Ford Cortina which will look externally as close as possible to original except wheels and a bit of the engine peeping out of the bonnet. It will have a Jaguar IRS, Cortina Mk4/5 IFS, slightly modified Mopar 318 cubic inch - 5.2 litre V8 engine estimating around 300+ bhp, 3"x2" box section chassis, alloy wheels, painted yellow underneath together with suspension, Body to be painted two tone, bottom part yellow and top blue. This car will be build with new parts only where necessary as a tight budget is all that is available - sob sob. That's about it in a nutshell - will it happen? who knows - scroll down, enjoy and find out.
